East Texas Y’all

Hi y’all we are Jacquey and Chad, welcome to East Texas Y’all, we are a small homestead located in the heart of East Texas.

In 2020 we found ourselves craving a more intentional life. What does that look like you ask, well……. We wanted to grow our own food. We wanted to understand where it came from and learn to symbiotically live with our soil. We wanted to get away from the rat race we found our selves in on a daily basis.

We took a huge leap of faith, in October of 2020 and put our house on the market. Mind you this was our dream house. We backed up to a park, when we sat outside in the evenings and heard the pink of the bat from the little league games. Strolling through the park with Olive and Timothy (more on our fur besties later). Perfect entertaining house, folks our dream house. Oh and don’t forget we had great jobs making more money than we ever had before. But were we happy? Were we content? No.

We knew there was a better life, a more intentional life, a life spent in the garden, eating dinner with loved ones and not conforming to what the world tells you to!

Guys you have to know this would be our 4th move in 6 years! We were those people, constantly searching, searching for the road less traveled, seekers of experiences, was this another experience?

It took us 2 months to put our house on the market, not because we had to fix things up. It’s because as much as I knew this is what we were supposed to do I fought it tooth and nail. I prayed harder than I had ever prayed, show me what you have planned, and I got a resounding, just trust me, now I’m stubborn, Chad will attest. I had to give up control and trust he knew what I needed. We put our house on the market on Wednesday, by Sunday we had 12 offers. He provided.
